Diana Herbert Markes Levitt & Harrison Held

We attended a delicious food tasting at The Carvery Kitchen, 3101 Ocean Park Boulevard in Santa Monica.   The sandwiches & salads were great...  highly recommended are the Puebla BBQ Brisket, the Chicken Caprese & the Buffalo Pastrami and the Mediterranean & The Farmers Chop Salads were plentiful and mouth watering too.  Nice atmosphere inside and cozy outdoor area available too.  Thanks to Brian Garrido for the invitation!

I had the pleasure to meet legendary rock 'n roll photographer Henry Diltz recently at a fun party hosted by Toy Box Entertainment and catered by Wolfgang Puck at the beautiful Grammy Museum downtown.  What a great nite...  Henry's stories & slide show was amazing.  His noteworthy subjects include Mama Cass Elliot, Crosby Still & Nash, Jim Morrison & The Doors, Mick Jagger, Paul McCartney, Keith Richard & Jimi Hendrix to name a few.

Chef Jacqueline Pham

Another delicious food tasting hosted by chef Jacqueline Pham at the new CafĂ© Casablanca Chocolate Pic Fair eatery located at  5450 W. Pico Boulevard.  We enjoyed savory Vietnamese chicken & vegetarian sandwiches with authentic Vietnamese coffee & tasty pistachio cookies.   Foodies can find her recipes online at  www.phamfatale.com  and her cookbooks are available on Amazon too.  Thanks to Joy Parris for the invitation!  HH

A Beautiful Marilyn Monroe Memorial & A Feast Fit For Hollywood Royalty With Chef Kurt Ehrlich @ Bourbon DTLA

Following the beautiful Marilyn Monroe Memorial in Westwood yesterday MM colleagues - Academy Award winner George Chakiris and popular 1950s actress Kathleen Hughes joined myself and Marilyn Remembered president Greg Schreiner at the wonderful new Bourbon DTLA bar restaurant for an outstanding dinner prepared by talented Presidential Chef Kurt Ehrlich. What a memorable delicious fine feast we had!  Joining us in spirit was Kathleen's  husband - the late great Stanley Rubin who produced "River of No Return" one of my favorite MM films.  Our food was amazing as was the prompt friendly service.  Bourbon DTLA is located in the heart of the L.A. Arts District at 734 E. Third Street.  Entrees are very affordable, servings are generous and range from $10 to $35.  Diners can enjoy classic drinks from the well stocked bar.  I've enjoyed Chef Kurt's delicious food for years at super publicist Roger Neal's A-List Oscar Suites so when I was invited to his newest venture I knew the food would be excellent & it was!  We started the evening with hot fresh delicious garlic bread followed by a superb grand sized salad nicioise with tender salmon on a bed of organic salad. It was soooo good!  Next up was the sumptuous grilled skinless chicken accompanied by tasty hot lemon shrimp, a medley of tender sauteed vegetables and a mouth watering well seasoned  baked potato.  The pasta prima vera tasted as good as it looked as were the wonderful desserts to conclude the delicious gourmet meal.  I highly recommend Bourbon DTLA!  Hours of operation are Dinner Tuesday - Sunday 4-10pm, Happy Hour Tuesday - Saturday 4-7pm & Sunday Brunch 11am - 3pm.  There is live jazz and R&B five nights a week and comedy on Sunday nights.  For more information please call 213 680 3003 or email info@bourbondtla.com - Bon Appetit!  Thank you to owner Chris Ceballos, celebrity chef Kurt Ehrlich, publicist Roger Neal and everyone at Bourbon DTLA for making our visit so delicious,  happy & memorable... My tastebuds are still singing!                              Report by Harrison Held.
